Surrey, BC – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC has deployed investigators to Victoria following a serious early-morning motor vehicle collision.

Victoria Police Department reported that on August 24, 2019, shortly after 12:00 a.m. this morning, officers attempted to pull over a vehicle in the area of Gorge Road and Rock Bay Avenue. It is reported that the male driver did not stop for officers, but fled at a high rate of speed. The car collided with three other vehicles at Douglas and Bay Streets, causing significant damage to all the vehicles involved.

The driver reportedly fled on foot from the scene and officers arrested a suspect nearby. The three other drivers were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
