New Investigations – Jurisdiction Sustained
On November 7, the CFSEU-BC Uniform Gang Enforcement Unit conducted a vehicle check in Surrey. During the incident, one adult male was shot by an officer. The affected person was transported to hospital for treatment and has since been released. IIO investigators were immediately deployed and the IIO investigation is currently underway. The Surrey RCMP remains responsible for the parallel investigation.
On November 14, an adult female in Vancouver was struck by a police vehicle. The affected person was transported to hospital for treatment of her injuries, where she currently remains. The IIO was notified on the same day and investigators have been assigned and the investigation is underway.
