Surrey – The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. has deployed to a police-related incident in Vancouver.
Vancouver Police Department reported that at approximately 2:00 p.m. on March 21, 2019, officers attempted to execute a warrant at a residence on East Hastings, Vancouver.
It is reported a male tried to exit the residence via a window on the third floor. The male was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The IIO is asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the IIO witness line at 1-855-446-8477.
Background:
The IIO is the independent civilian oversight agency of the police in British Columbia. It investigates all officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, whether or not there is any allegation of wrongdoing.
