Surrey, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. has deployed investigators to an officer-involved shooting in New Westminster.
New Westminster Police reported that on February 24, 2019 at approximately 9:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a male threatening to cause self-harm at 805 Boyd Street.
The male was believed to be in possession of a firearm. It is reported that there was an interaction with police and shots were fired. The male did not survive his injuries.
