Surrey, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of B.C. has been notified of a police-involved incident in Langley.

RCMP reported that on July 01, 2019, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a collision occurred between the vehicle of an off-duty police officer and a motorcyclist at the 26400 block of 56th Ave, Langley.

Emergency Health Services attended and transported the male driver of the motorcycle to hospital, where it was determined he had suffered serious injuries.

The IIO is asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the IIO witness line at 1-855-446-8477.

Background:

The IIO is the independent civilian oversight agency of the police in British Columbia. It investigates all officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, whether or not there is any allegation of wrongdoing.
