Surrey, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of B.C. has been notified of a police-involved incident in North Vancouver.
RCMP reported that on June 20, 2019, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers attended a residential building in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver following reports of a male entering the building.
At approximately 8:15 p.m. the male fell from the third floor and sustained serious injuries.
The IIO is asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the IIO witness line at 1-855-446-8477.
Background:
The IIO is the independent civilian oversight agency of the police in British Columbia. It investigates all officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, whether or not there is any allegation of wrongdoing.
