Surrey, B.C. — The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC is providing an update regarding its investigation into the arrest of a man that occurred in Langley on May 22, 2026 (IIO 2026-111).

Around 11:20 p.m., Langley RCMP officers responded to an alleged domestic dispute near the 4200 block of 208 Street.

Police located the man identified in the report and arrested him. During the interaction that followed, the man sustained an injury.

The injury was determined to be serious but not life-threatening, and the man was taken to the hospital for assessment and treatment.

The IIO was notified shortly after the incident and commenced an investigation, which remains ongoing.

To date, investigators have conducted interviews, reviewed video footage and collected and analyzed a significant amount of evidence. The majority of canvasing the area has now been completed.

Investigators continue to conduct interviews, review available video footage and examine other relevant evidence.
