Surrey, B.C. — The Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia is seeking witnesses to a police-involved shooting incident that occurred south of Prince George, in Stoner, British Columbia on March 16, 2023, between approximately 6:05 pm and 6:20 pm.
The IIO is asking any motorist travelling through the intersection of Highway 97 and Willowcale Road—or who were stopped for the police interaction—on Thursday, March 16, 2023 between 6:05 pm and 6:20 pm, with relevant information, or dashcam or other video footage of the incident to please contact the Witness Line toll-free at 1-855-446-8477 or via the contact form on the iiobc.ca website.
Incident Summary
On March 16, 2023, police responded to a call at the intersection of Highway 97 and Willowcale Road, south of Prince George. An interaction occurred between the man and police, and the man was shot. He was pronounced deceased a short time later.
