Surrey, B.C. — The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC is providing an update to an investigation into a July motor vehicle incident in Richmond where four people were injured (IIO 2025-168).

At about 9:15 p.m. on July 7, 2025, there was a collision between a police vehicle and a black Honda Ridgeline near the intersection of Williams and No.4 roads.

The driver of the Ridgeline, a man in his 50s, was injured. The collision also involved two pedestrians, a man and woman in their early 20s, and a person in their nearby yard, who was a man in his 50s. The two pedestrians were the most seriously injured, and all four injured people are now recovering at home.

IIO investigators are currently finishing interviews and awaiting specialized forensic reports from a third party. Investigators have also canvassed the area of the collision for witnesses and video.
