New Investigation- Jurisdiction Sustained

On October 18, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a member of the LMD Integrated Police Dog Section (PDS) was assisting Surrey RCMP officers in the area of King George  Boulevard and 96 Avenue.  They came into contact with a male subject, who allegedly fled the area on foot. The PDS officer and his police dog were deployed in an attempt to locate the subject. A short time and distance later, the subject was located and was arrested with the assistance of the police dog. The male affected person sustained serious injuries related to dog bites, for which he has received medical treatment.

The IIO was notified on October 19, 2013 at 9:44 p.m..  IIO personnel have been assigned and the investigation is underway.
