Surrey – The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. has concluded an investigation into a motor vehicle incident that occurred on Sunday morning in Vancouver.
Vancouver Police Department notified the IIO that on October 14, 2018, at approximately 8:00 a.m, an officer was driving an unmarked police vehicle westbound on Broadway when a civilian vehicle northbound on Renfrew Street collided with it in the intersection. After impact, the civilian vehicle struck another civilian vehicle southbound on Renfrew Street, stopped at the traffic light.
Occupants of all three vehicles sustained injuries, however the IIO’s investigation has determined that the injuries did not meet the established definition of serious harm as defined in the Police Act.
