Surrey, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of B.C. has deployed investigators to an Officer-Involved Shooting incident in Surrey.
RCMP received a call of a hostage situation between a male and female at 133 St. in Surrey on Thursday evening. The report included the male had a gun.
RCMP notified the IIO on Friday 29 March that at approximately 7:30 a.m. officers entered the residence. There was an interaction with police and shots were fired. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene and the female was taken to hospital but did not survive her injuries. There were no other injuries.
The cause of the injuries to both persons are yet to be confirmed.
