Surrey, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC is investigating a police-involved incident in Topley Landing, near Houston, in which one man was shot.
At approximately 3:40 this morning, RCMP responded to a report of two people breaking into a remote lodge. During an interaction with police, a male suspect was shot in the wrist. The man was taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. He has since been discharged.
The IIO has begun an investigation to determine what role, if any, police actions or inactions played in the man’s injury.

Background
