Surrey, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC is investigating an incident in Langley in which multiple people were shot and three people, including the suspect, were killed.
Early this morning, July 25, officers responded to reports of shots fired at various locations throughout the City of Langley and one location in the Township of Langley. RCMP located two deceased men – one at Creek Stone Place, and another at the Langley City bus loop near Logan Avenue and Glover Road. A woman located near 203A Street and Fraser Highway was taken to hospital in critical condition. A fourth victim was found near the Langley Bypass with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Langley RCMP, with the assistance of the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team, found a man matching the description of the shooter near the Langley Bypass and 200th Street. During their interaction with the suspect, police shot the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The IIO has begun an investigation to determine the role played by police in the suspect’s death.
