Surrey, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC is investigating a motor vehicle incident in Surrey.
On November 4, 2020 at approximately 11:00 p.m., an officer in an unmarked police vehicle responding to an unrelated incident was involved in a collision with a white Volkswagen Jetta at the intersection of 128 Street and 93 Avenue. Emergency Health Services transported the sole occupants of both vehicles to a local area hospital with injuries.
The IIO is asking any person who saw, heard or recorded the incident who has not yet provided a statement to the IIO or RCMP to please contact the Witness Line toll-free at 1-855-446-8477 or via the contact form on the iiobc.ca website.
Background
The IIO is the independent civilian oversight agency of the police in British Columbia. It investigates all officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, whether or not there is any allegation of wrongdoing.
