Surrey, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC is investigating an officer-involved shooting incident in Richmond.
Information provided by the RCMP indicates that on October 5, 2021 at approximately 1:15 p.m., police received a call regarding a man with a weapon near the 7300 block of Turnill Street. When officers arrived, an interaction occurred, and shots were fired by police.
Emergency Health Services were called, and the man was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
The details of the interaction between police and the affected person are the subject of IIO investigation, and no additional information can be provided at this time.
