Surrey, B.C. – The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC is investigating an incident in Victoria.
Information provided by the Victoria Police Department indicates that at approximately 11:40 p.m. on January 29, 2022, officers responded to a report of an alleged robbery at a business near Quadra and Yates streets. When police arrived in the area, a man reportedly matching the provided description was located near the intersection of Quadra Street and Pandora Avenue. A police service dog was used to assist in taking the man into custody, and he sustained a serious but not life-threatening dog bite injury.
Emergency Health Services attended, and the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Background
